Electrical Load Estimator

A simple planning calculator to help customers understand approximate appliance load before speaking with an electrician.

Planning tool

Estimate connected load

Enter common appliance wattages. This is not a substitute for electrical design, but it helps explain why dedicated circuits and switchboard checks may be needed.

Enter values and calculate.

How to read the result

The result gives a rough combined wattage and amperage estimate at 230V. Real electrical design also considers demand, cable size, circuit protection, installation method, phase arrangement, voltage drop, equipment instructions and local rules.

Important: High-load appliances, EV chargers, ovens, pumps, workshops and air conditioning should be assessed by a licensed electrician before installation.

Why this is useful

  • Helps explain why a spare power point is not always enough.
  • Highlights when a switchboard capacity check may be needed.
  • Creates a better conversation before buying equipment.
